For most of my friends, online and offline, January is a very long month from a financial perspective. Most people are paid earlier than usual in December and the January payday in our household is the last day of the month.
Making money stretch is difficult, fixed bills need to be paid, one of the few expenses most households can cut back on is groceries and food spending. I've written a few posts about how to eat well whilst spending less:

I'll be trying to be as savvy and thrifty as I can when compiling my Family Meal Plans in January and beyond, making sure we eat nutritious meals that are delicious whilst also carefully counting our pennies.
With this in mind I decided to start a linky for meals, made from scratch, costing less than £1 a portion.
To take part, simply blog about any recipe, made from scratch and enough to feed at least 2 adults, where each portion costs less than £1. Should you live abroad, you can still enter, just check the exchange rate to ensure your meal costs the equivalent of £1 British currency or less per portion.
