I love making my own yoghurt and it definitely saves us a lot
of money. I use loads of yoghurt in
cooking and baking, yoghurt is also usually in our lunchboxes and provides a
healthy snack for my constantly hungry 3 daughters.
I was delighted to be asked to host a giveaway of an EasiYo
Yoghurt Maker from www.YoghurtDirect.co.uk. It is essentially a large flask into which you pour boiling water, and then suspend a jar with the milk in it. Simple and effective. The only electricity required is to heat a kettle to boil water.
We bought an EasiYo Yoghurt maker with us when we came over
from NZ and have since bought some for friends here in the UK. It is a user friendly system, so easy that kids
can make it, and the jar that the yoghurt is made in fits into our fridge door.
The EasiYo yoghurt maker is good quality, well designed and
the packets are brilliant for those wanting to start making their own
yoghurt. It does cost more than when I
make yoghurt from scratch without the sachets.
What I like about the system is the sachets are made with milk from free
range cows, the flavourings contain no artificial sweeteners, and it is a great
way to get started making your own yoghurt if you have no idea where to start.
The other fab thing about the base sachets is the contents
is dried so all you need is water and time to make yoghurt, no electricity is
needed – perfect for students, camping holidays or busy families. The sachets are available in a wide range of
flavours and styles of yoghurt.
If you want to use the EasiYo system without the sachets I put 1 litre of UHT milk and 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt from the supermarket (choose one with live cultures) into the jar then follow the instructions as normal.

ReplyDeleteI would try it with ss goats' milk as I'm allergic to cows' milk. I like plain yoghurt so that I can add my own flavours, honey, strawbs, etc.
