Anchor Butter is bringing back Elevenses! - Giveaway Now Closed

Elevenses seems to have been forgotten and been lost in the general rushing around that is a fact of life for most of us.  Anchor want to inspire people who feel the need to have a nice little sit, with a cup of tea and a snack, at around 11 o’clock.

I find that a biscuit or two, or perhaps a little slice of cake at this time of day is just what’s needed to recharge and round off the morning nicely.

Anchor want people to embrace this mid morning snack, in all its glory and want you to join them! To help bring Elevenses back Anchor would like to offer all the readers of Utterly Scrummy Food For Families the chance to win a full set of Anchor memorabilia! That’s a butter dish, a pair of egg cups, a cake stand, a cake tin, a tea towel, an apron and a toy van!

To enter all you have to do is leave a comment below to tell Anchor and I what your favourite elevenses snack is.  Please leave your email address or twitter name in your comment so I can contact you if you win.

For a bonus entry you can tweet "I want to bring back #Elevenses and win goodies with @Anchor_dairy and @utterlyscrummy http://bit.ly/AevdsW."  Remember to leave a second comment if you tweet the giveaway otherwise your extra entry won’t be counted. The competition closes at 10pm on 18 January 2012 and the winner will be notified on 19th January.

In the meantime, why not hop over to Anchor’s Facebook and Twitter for a chat about all things cake and Elevenses.

To help inspire you to bake some treats for Elevenses you can check out these posts on my blog that are my favourite Elevenses treats:

Quick and Easy Banana Cake

Gingernuts

Lemon Drizzle Cake or Plain Sponge Loaf

Quick and Easy Chocolate Loaf

Peanut Butter and Choc Chip Biscuits

These biscuits are SO easy to make and contain no flour so may be suitable for Coeliacs, check the peanut butter to make sure there's no wheat or gluten in it.  These are my favourite emergency biscuit when there is little time to whip up something delicious but I NEED something tasty with a cuppa. *Wipes crumbs from chin* These disappear in seconds whenever I take them to coffee mornings or on the school run.  Make sure there is nobody with a nut allergy about though when you are enjoying these, keep everyone safe.

1 cup peanut butter

3/4 cup caster sugar

1 egg, beaten

3/4 cup chocolate chips

Beat the peanut butter and sugar together in a bowl. Mix in the beaten egg thoroughly, then mix in the chocolate chips. The mixture will be quite stiff.  I usually use my hand held electric mixer.

Roll tablespoonfuls into balls and put on a baking tray lined with non-stick baking paper. Flatten firmly with a fork.

Bake at 180C for 15-18 minutes until the biscuits are cooked and lightly browned. Transfer to a cake rack to cool and then keep in an airtight container.

THE WINNER OF THE GIVEAWAY WAS DRAWN USING A RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR:

The 11th comment was made my Clare Trevor, congratulations!

I shall be in touch so the PR can send you your prize.

Thank you to all those who entered the giveaway.
